Description

Sildigra, a popular brand of sildenafil citrate is a drug used mainly for the treatment of the erectile dysfunction in men. Erectile dysfunction (ED) commonly known as impotence, a sexual disability in which a man is unable of obtaining or holding an erection during sexual intercourse. Because of the purpose of this drug, this has been studied with men affected by erectile dysfunction. According to the studies, Sildigra has been proven to benefit men with ED participate in sexual activity.

Mechanism Of Action:

The physiologic mechanism of erection of the penis involves release of nitric oxide (NO) in the corpus cavernosum during sexual stimulation. NO then activates the enzyme guanylate cyclase, which results in increased levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), producing smooth muscle relaxation in the corpus cavernosum and allowing inflow of blood.

Sildenafil enhances the effect of NO by inhibiting phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which is responsible for degradation of cGMP in the corpus cavernosum. When sexual stimulation causes local release of NO, inhibition of PDE5 by sildenafil causes increased levels of cGMP in the

corpus cavernosum, resulting in smooth muscle relaxation and inflow of blood to the corpus cavernosum. Sildenafil at recommended doses has no effect in the absence of sexual stimulation

How to take the medicine:

However, the medication may be taken any time from 4 hours to half an hour before sexual activity.

Sildenafil may be taken with or without food, but taking it with a high-fat meal may increase the time before the medication starts working.

Many things can affect the dose of a medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications.

It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take higher doses of this medication than those prescribed by your doctor. Contact your doctor if you take a greater dose of sildenafil than prescribed.

Store this medication in its original package at room temperature, protect it from moisture, and keep it out of the reach of children.

Do not dispose of medications in wastewater (e.g. down the sink or in the toilet) or in household garbage. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed or have expired.

Do not take sildenafil if you:

are allergic to sildenafil or any ingredients of this medication
are taking any type of nitrate medication in any form (oral, sublingual, skin patch, or spray). Nitrate medications include nitroglycerin and related medications that are used for the relief of chest pain or angina. Use of these medications with sildenafil could cause a sudden severe drop in blood pressure that could lead to dizziness, fainting, heart attack, or stroke.

have a history of vision problems related to nerve damage to the retina caused by decreased blood flow.

Side effects

Side effects can be mild or severe, temporary or permanent. Side effects of sildenafil include warmth or redness in the face, neck, or chest; stuffy nose; headaches, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, and an inability to differentiate between the colors green and blue. Loss of hearing, ringing in the ears and dizziness are other potential side effects.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

During sexual activity, if you become dizzy or nauseated, or have pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw, stop and call your doctor right away. You could be having a serious side effect of sildenafil.

Stop using sildenafil and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

sudden vision loss;
ringing in your ears, or sudden hearing loss;
chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling;
irregular heartbeat;
swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet.
